FAQs

General

Taskelio connects interested buyers with up-and-coming talent by creating a platform where only young people and students can become freelancers.

We do this because younger people and students are knee deep in the most up-to-date skills, quick learners, hard working, and excel using new technologies, so we know they have more to offer than people think.

Compared to our competitors, our platform gives buyers access to up-and-coming talent that would otherwise get overlooked.

Not to mention, these freelancers will one day be the backbone of our workforces, so it’s crucial for them to gain experience and confidence! 💪

Buyers: are those want to purchase services from freelancers (aka sellers) on Taskelio.

Freelancers & Sellers: are the same thing! Freelancers (aka sellers) are those who want to sell their services on Taskelio.

The short answer is yes 😅 the longer answer is:

If you are a freelancer, then you are already a buyer as well and have access to all buyer features.

If you are a buyer, then you can become a freelancer as well by 1) ensuring you meet the freelancer requirements and 2) clicking the Become a Seller button on your dashboard.

So while all freelancers are also buyers (not that they have to use the buyer features), not all buyers can be freelancers (since they have to meet our freelancer requirements).

Payments

Go to your profile icon in the top right > payments > withdraw money. Alternatively, you can click my sales (in the top header) > payments (in the secondary header) > withdraw money.

Please note that you’ll have to fill in some account details under your profile icon in the top right > profile > settings > payments, for the payment method that you choose before we can process the withdrawal!

Once you submit a withdrawal request, we’ll process your payment within 2 – 3 business days.

However, there may be additional processing time on the payment processors end (e.g., PayPal) depending on the withdrawal method that you choose and where you are in the world. It usually takes less than a day, if that, though!

All buyer payments are entered into a clearing period during which your sales dashboard will say that your payments are “pending clearance”. This is done to ensure that everyone is covered if buyers attempt to retract their payments.

Freelancers must wait 14 days before they can withdraw payments.

The only reason that we do this, literally, is just in case there are any issues on the buyer’s end with what you’ve delivered.

For Buyers

Because we’re the only platform that gives buyers complete access solely to up-and-coming talent!

Why does that matter? Because young people and students are the ones who are creating and learning the most up-to-date and technologically advanced skills, they’re eager to work, they’re quick learners, they’re going to be our future workforce, and chances are you’ll save some money by hiring them!

Think about it. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, J.K. Rowling, Sundar Pichai, Susan Wojcicki, and all the greatest minds were once up-and-coming-talent and looking for someone to give them a chance, so give the next great minds a chance! 🚀

We have a couple options:

  1. Pay using debit/credit via Stripe or PayPal
  2. Pay using your PayPal account

If you have suggestions for more options, let us know at contact@taskelio.com

Buyers pay a 5% service charge on all purchases.

However, we’re considering implementing a subscription option so buyers can pay a monthly fee instead of the 5%. If you think that’s is a good idea or have a better one, let us know at contact@taskelio.com.

Of course we do! For more info, check out our complete Refund Policy.

Yes, we do. However, we don’t collect taxes on all sales (we’re working to include this).

The Sales Tax will be calculated according to your billing address, your relevant state tax laws, and the type of service you’re purchasing. There is some variability, however, and we’re not currently able to collect taxes on all sales (we’re working to incorporate this).

Of course not! It’s entirely up to you to decide whether or not you want to tip the freelancer. That being said, if they did a great job and you’ve got the cash to spare, then we know they’d more than appreciate it.

For Freelancers

We hope so!

The requirements are pretty straightforward. You just have to be (with proof):

  1. Between the ages of 16 – 26

and/or

  1. A student

Because our mission is to create a platform dedicated to helping young people and students gain experience (not to mention money, autonomy, connections, etc.) by connecting them with people who need their help!

If we don’t limit the people who can become freelancers, then we wouldn’t be able to help those we’re trying to, and we’d be the same as Fiverr, UpWork, Peopleperhour, and so on.

So while we’re sorry if you don’t meet the requirements, it has to be this way 😥 but you should check out Fiverr, UpWork, etc. as they’re all amazing platforms too!

Honestly, there’s just no easier way to verify that someone meets the age (or student) requirements to become a freelancer 🥲

We’re trying to create a platform for young people and students to overcome the difficulties of gaining experience, so we have to be thorough about who we allow to become a freelancer.

Feel free to email us at contact@taskelio.com if you have any better ideas though!

Currently, your options are:

  1. Receive your payment via PayPal
  2. Receive your payment via Wise*
  3. Receive your payment via a Bank Transfer (Canadian bank accounts only)

*For Wise payments, you will receive an email (almost like an e-transfer) from Wise instructing you on how to deposit the payment into your account. If you don’t follow through with the deposit, your payment will bounce, and we’ll have to charge you for any additional fees incurred. Additionally, your “Account Currency” that you added in Settings > Payments > Wise Payments must match the currency of the account your depositing the money into or the payment will bounce, and we’ll have to charge your for the additional fees incurred.

Freelancers pay a 10% service fee (that’s 50% less than options like Fiverr 😍) on all sales. This means that you pay nothing up-front, but we deduct 10% from your total sale price (aka earnings) after you make a sale. E.g., if your service costs $100, then you get $90 after our service fee.

There are also other optional fees for services such as seller verification, featured sellers, featured jobs, etc. that we offer.

Custom extras are necessary modifications that can be added on once a service has been purchased.

I.e., once a job has been purchased but the freelancer thinks about any modification or any other features that he wants the buyer to add he send a ‘custom extra’.
